Senior Lecturer · University of Bristol

I am an economist working at the intersection of public, labor, and normative economics. I am also affiliated with IZA, CESifo, IFS, and HCEO.

My research centers on equality of opportunity: measuring how much of today’s inequality is driven by circumstances beyond individual control, and identifying which early-life factors are responsible. I hold a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship (GBP 1.6m, 2024–2028) for the project “Unfair inequality in the labor market: a global study.”

I am also a Co-I of the European Social Science Genetics Network, a doctoral network funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe program. I obtained my Ph.D. from LMU Munich and have held visiting positions at Cornell University, Princeton University, and FAIR at NHH Bergen.
